Chenega Logistics Opens New Sioux Falls Facility
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Chenega Logistics, a provider of technology solutions and services, officially opened its new downtown Sioux Falls office today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Chenega Logistics has been housed in the South Dakota Technology Business Center in Sioux Falls since 2006. The company’s relocation to downtown Sioux Falls will allow Chenega Logistics to establish a permanent presence for its company headquarters.
As part of this expansion, the company will have the facilities to grow and hire additional employees to provide software development and technology integration services to its clients.
Gov. Dennis Daugaard is excited about Chenega’s relocation from the Technology Business Center to downtown Sioux Falls for a number of reasons.
“This expansion is great news. It’s clearly an indicator that one of our South Dakota-based businesses is thriving, but this expansion also shows us that the South Dakota Technology Center’s efforts as a business incubator are working,” said Gov. Dennis Daugaard.
The South Dakota Technology Business Center infrastructure provides new companies with shared assets and support to help nurture them through the start-up phase.
Since its establishment in 2006, Chenega Logistics has expanded, and its number of employees has grown from 2 to 122.
“Sioux Falls is a great location for our company,” said Mike Montgomery, Chenega Logistics President. “Our employees are our biggest asset, and, in South Dakota, we can easily find the skill sets and the work ethic we need to be successful.”
Montgomery went on to say, “Chenega is committed to South Dakota and looks forward to bringing new information technology careers and opportunities to the Sioux Falls area.”
Chenega Logistics is headquartered in Sioux Falls, S.D. with additional locations in the Washington, D.C. metro area, Tampa, Fla., and Anchorage, Alaska. Chenega Logistics is owned by Chenega Corporation, an Alaskan Native Corporation founded in 1974.
