Gov. Rhoden and Colleagues Support Farmers Through Year-Round E15
PIERRE, S.D. – Today, Governor Larry Rhoden and six fellow governors sent a letter to the Committee on Environment & Public Works, urging them to support American farmers by ensuring the availability of nationwide year-round E15. You can find the letter here.
“Expanding domestic ethanol production and nationwide E15 access supports our hardworking farmers and fuel industry workers and ensures availability of affordable, home-grown fuel for all Americans,” said Governor Larry Rhoden and his colleagues. “While our farmers continue to innovate and increase yields, and considering market uncertainty, now is the time to unleash American energy by expanding American ethanol availability and production.”
The availability of year-round E15 would be made possible through the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act of 2025, which supports the increases of domestic biofuels production and utilization.
“Increasing domestic ethanol production will reduce our dependance on foreign energy, expand consumer choice, and eliminate inefficient federal regulatory barriers,” continued Governor Larry Rhoden and his colleagues. “By ensuring the availability of nationwide year-round E15, you will help create new markets for our American farmers who are facing tightening demand, and Americans will also directly benefit at the gas pump.”
Governor Rhoden was joined in signing this letter by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe, Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen, and Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers.
