Tuesday, Oct 6, 12 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. MDT, Rapid City – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will be the guest speaker at the National Philanthropy Day (NPD) luncheon at the Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn, Rapid City, S.D.
Friday, Oct 9, 12 p.m. CDT, Sioux Falls – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will be a guest speaker at the American Technical Education Association Conference at the Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls.
Saturday, Oct. 3, 6 p.m. CDT, Sioux Falls – Lt. Gov. Matt Michels will be a guest speaker for the 2015 NOSC Navy Ball and Celebration of the 100 Year Anniversary of the Navy Reserve at the Downtown Holiday Inn in Sioux Falls.

Tuesday, Oct. 6, 9 a.m. CDT, Flandreau – The Native American Student Achievement Advisory Council will hold a meeting in the Commons Room of the Community Center, 503 W. Broad Ave. On Wednesday, Oct. 7, the council will spend the morning visiting the Spanish immersion school in the Sioux Falls School District. Gov. Dennis Daugaard issued an executive order calling for the establishment of this council. Council members are working to identify strategies for improving achievement and graduation rates among South Dakota’s Native American students and will report findings to the Legislature and the Governor by Dec. 1, 2015. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 3 p.m., CDT, Pierre – The Department of Health will hold a public rules hearing at the State Public Health Laboratory, 615 E. 4th St., to consider the adoption and amendment of rules that will update the state’s reportable disease list and bring South Dakota into compliance with national standards for disease control. Wednesday, Oct. 7, to Thursday, Oct. 8, Aberdeen – The South Dakota Board of Regents will meet on the campus of Northern State University for its regular business meeting. Executive sessions begin Wednesday at 8 a.m. and continue until 12:30 p.m. The regents’ business meeting convenes at 12:30 p.m. CDT Wednesday, Oct. 7, in the Northern State University Student Center (Centennial Room 262) on the NSU campus. The agenda includes discussion of statewide postsecondary attainment goals and an update on the high school dual credit program.
