February 11, 2026 – The Silver Mountain Fire approximately two miles south of Rockerville is estimated at 50 percent containment tonight and GPS mapped at 67 acres.  State, federal, and local firefighters have established a perimeter around the fire.

Highway 16 is being impacted by heavy smoke which is expected to continue through tomorrow.

Firefighters will remain on scene overnight and into the coming days.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
