SOUTH DAKOTA HUNTING ATLAS AVAILABLE ONLINE

PIERRE – The Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) 2003 South Dakota Hunting Atlas of public hunting opportunities is now available via the GFP website at www.state.sd.us/gfp/.

"South Dakota’s latest hunting atlas can be viewed and/or printed from the GFP website," said Walk-In Areas Coordinator Bill Smith. "The online publication is in pdf format, so Adobe Acrobat software is needed to open the files." Adobe Acrobat is available for free from the GFP website by clicking on the "Get Acrobat Reader" icon found in many places on the department’s website.

"Hardcopies of the publication will be available in a couple weeks, and those interested can get on our mailing list by visiting online at the address above and then clicking on the link "Request Information" under the subheading "Popular Shortcuts," Smith noted.

The South Dakota Hunting Atlas is a consolidated brochure of maps that display Walk-In Areas, state Game Production Areas (GPAs), federal Waterfowl Production Areas (WPAs), some school lands, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) properties, National Forest, National Parks, National Grasslands, and several Bureau of Reclamation properties.
