                                  State Prison Inmate In Custody

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - A state prison inmate is in custody after escaping from the South Dakota State Penitentiary earlier today.  

After it was discovered that Inmate Jeffrey Green was unaccounted for, he was apprehended and taken back into custody.

Green, a minimum-security inmate, was being housed at Unit C, the minimum-security unit of the Jameson Annex to the State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls.

Green is serving a 10-year sentence with three years suspended for distribution of a controlled substance in Union County.
