UPDATED GUIDES TO GREAT SIOUX NATION NOW AVAILABLE
Thinking about visiting South Dakota’s Great Sioux Nation? Two free, updated publications are available to assist visitors with travel planning.
A Guide to the Great Sioux Nation serves as a 29-page overview of the state’s nine tribes. It includes information on tribal history, major attractions and activities. The guide contains contact information for tribal headquarters and images illustrating the splendor of the Great Sioux Nation.
South Dakota’s 2001-02 Guide to Indian Reservations and Art includes 44 pages of businesses, services and events for the Great Sioux Nation as well as listings of locations around the state where Indian art can be viewed or purchased. Visitors can use the city directory to guide them to Native American attractions by city.
A Guide to the Great Sioux Nation was printed as a cooperative venture with assistance from the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe, Royal River Casino and Motel, Rosebud Sioux Tribe, Rosebud Casino, the Prairie Wind Casino and the South Dakota Department of Tourism. South Dakota’s 2001-02 Guide to Indian Reservations and Art was designed and funded by the Department of Tourism with information gathered from all nine tribes as well as reservation businesses.
