Tickets Sold Out for Both Inaugural Balls;
Live Broadcast of Events Planned
PIERRE, S.D. – Tickets have sold out for the two evening balls on Jan. 8 at the State Capitol and at the Ramkota River Centre as part of the Inaugural activities in Pierre.
While tickets are no longer available for the Inaugural balls, the Grand March at the Capitol ball will be broadcast live on television and online. South Dakota Public Broadcasting will televise the Grand March at the Capitol ball live on its television stations statewide and online at www.sdpb.org .
The grand march begins at 7 p.m. (CST) and includes introduction of the state’s constitutional and elected officials, Supreme Court justices and Governor and First Lady of South Dakota on the Grand Staircase in the Capitol Rotunda.
The Inauguration ceremony at noon (CST) will also be broadcast. Gov.-elect Dennis Daugaard and other elected officials will take their oaths of office in the ceremony held in the Capitol Rotunda. The ceremony is open and free to the public, although limited seating is available.
The inauguration ceremony will be broadcast live on South Dakota Public Broadcasting television and radio stations statewide and by Pierre radio stations KCCR (1240 AM) and KGFX (1060 AM). Video of the ceremony will be available online from South Dakota Public Broadcasting at www.sdpb.org and at the Pierre Capital Journal newspaper’s website at www.capjournal.com .
