South Dakota State Fair Seeks Guest Performers for Sherwin & Pam Linton Shows
HURON, S.D. – The South Dakota State Fair is now accepting applications for guest performers to appear on the Sherwin & Pam Linton shows during the 2026 Fair. Each year, Sherwin and Pam Linton, along with The Cotton Kings, feature rising talent as part of their long‑running and well‑loved performances.
A longtime State Fair tradition, the Lintons’ three daily shows kicking off the fair are known for their unique blend of music, storytelling, and the introduction of new entertainers. Many past guest performers have gone on to achieve regional and national recognition, making the opportunity an important springboard for emerging artists.
Guest performer spots are open to individuals of all ages and experience levels, including both professional and non‑professional entertainers. This is a non‑paid opportunity intended to spotlight South Dakota talent.
Interested individuals are invited to submit a resume or description of talent, along with audio and/or video links and a photo, to Candi.Briley@state.sd.us. Submissions are due by May 1.
Sherwin and Pam Linton, along with The Cotton Kings, will return to the Farm Bureau Dakotaland Stage for 2026 for shows on Wednesday-Friday, after more than 30 years of performing on the Centennial Stage. The Centennial Stage space will now be utilized for grounds and animal attractions, giving more space to the attractions and fairgoers.
The 2026 South Dakota State Fair kicks off on Channel Seeds Opening Day, Wednesday, September 2, and runs through Monday, September 7. For more information, contact the State Fair office at 800-529-0900, visit www.sdstatefair.com, or check it out on Facebook, Instagram, and X.
