PIERRE, S.D. — Rosebud Electronic Integration Corporation (REIC) and Rosebud Economic Development Corporation (REDCO) are opening the doors of the Advanced Electronic Rosebud Integration (AERI) with a ribbon-cutting ceremony today.

The company will create more than 25 high-paying jobs in the next couple of years at its 10,000-square-foot facility.

“The bulk of these jobs are for electronic technician specialists,” according to Richard Benda, secretary, Department of Tourism and State Development. “These are exactly the type of jobs we are working to attract to South Dakota.”

The facility in Mission will research and develop lead-free circuit boards for Radiance Technologies, which has a contract with the US Army Space and Missile Defense Command.

REIC was established in 2006 to do contract work for Radiance Technologies, which is headquartered in Huntsville, Ala. Radiance Technologies specializes in the application of emerging technologies to deliver government and commercial solutions.

Arlene Lomax, manager and director of REIC, hopes that this is one of many positive steps in the right direction for the reservation.

“These jobs are technical positions that will provide a boost to the local and state economies,” Lomax said.

Securing the facility has been a real joint effort between the state and tribal leaders.

“Helping enhance economic development on our reservations is a priority in the state’s 2010 Initiative. The creation of these jobs goes a long way toward achieving that goal,” Benda said.

REIC is owned by the Rosebud Sioux Tribe and located on the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Reservation.
