Northern State University to Manage Si Tanka Transcripts

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Effective Monday, Northern State University will manage transcript services for the now-closed Si Tanka University.

South Dakota Board of Regents’ officials said beginning March 6, the registrar’s office at Northern will process requests for Si Tanka University, Huron University, and Huron College transcripts.

“Northern State officials only recently obtained the transcript files, but have worked diligently to get the records in order and available to former students,” said Tad Perry, the regents’ executive director. “Northern’s registrar, Peggy Hallstrom, and her staff recognize how important it is to make these transcripts available to individuals who need verification for employment or education purposes. We salute Northern’s president, Patrick Schloss, and everyone involved for expediting the records transfer.”

Si Tanka University declared bankrupty last year, and has since closed both of its campuses at Eagle Butte and Huron. The Huron campus also formerly operated as Huron University and Huron College.

Transcripts may be requested by writing to Records & Registration, Northern State University, 1200 South Jay Street, Aberdeen, SD 57401. For more information about the process to request transcripts, see the Web site at http://www.northern.edu
