Company Expansion to Add Jobs to North Sioux City 

Portionables, Inc. Announces Plans to Open New S.D. Location

PIERRE, S.D. – Portionables, Inc. is taking advantage of South Dakota’s optimal business environment and expanding its Washington state based company to North Sioux City. Portionables, Inc. will create approximately 100 manufacturing jobs throughout the coming months.

The new 60,000 foot manufacturing plant in North Sioux City will be a great addition to Portionables current 65,000 square foot facility in Bellingham, Wash. Future expansion plans are already in place for the North Sioux City location as Portionables continues to grow and meet the demands of its customers and the market.

Portionables, Inc. specializes in the development, production, and co-packing of individually quick frozen portion control foods. The company prides itself in its use of the freshest ingredients and most flavorful seasonings. Their products are used in restaurants, cafeterias and on dinner tables throughout North America. Principle products include sauces, soups, desserts, side dishes, and fruit and vegetable purees for both the food service and retail industries in the United StatesCanada and Western Europe

Betty Crouse, Vice President of Finance and General Manager of Portionables, Inc., said South Dakota’s central location and response from state government led them to choose the state as the site for its expansions. “The response we got from state government to help us find an adequate location and all the assistance they provided [brought us to South Dakota],” she said.

The Governor’s Office of Economic Development is aggressively pursuing these types of business expansions that create jobs, economic growth and capital investment for our state,” said Jafar Karim, director of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. 

 “Portionables is an impressive new addition to our ever-growing business community.  We are very excited to welcome them to our area and are pleased that they have chosen North Sioux City for their expansion,” said Kory Menken, executive director of the North Sioux City Economic Development Corporation.
