Huron, S.D. – Have you ever wanted to share your singing skills with the world? Enter the “Dacotah Star” talent competition at the South Dakota State Fair!

 

Applications for the 7^th Annual Dacotah Star competition are now available online at www.sdstatefair.com or at the State Fair office in Huron. Participants compete for a chance to win more than $2,000 in cash and the opportunity to star in their own television commercial. All applications must be received in the Fair office by Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 5:00 pm.

 

The grand prize winner in the adult division earns a cash prize of $1,000, a starring role in a promotional commercial on KTTW FOX and the title of “2009 Dacotah Star.”

 

The winner will also have the opportunity to perform on the NorthWestern Energy Freedom Stage during the 2010 State Fair and emcee the 2010 Dacotah Star competition. This year’s emcee is Josh Bawek from Conde, SD.

 

Preliminary competition begins on Friday, Sept. 4 and ends on Sunday, Sept. 6. The Dacotah Star finals will be held on Monday, Sept. 7. All performances begin at 4:30 pm on the NorthWestern Energy Freedom Stage.
