The South Dakota Department of Corrections is providing notification to law enforcement and the public about the pending release of state prison offender Carl Six Toes.

Six Toes, age 49, will be released from prison on September 17, 2025, after serving the entirety of his sentence for sexual contact with a person incapable of consenting out of Minnehaha County. Because he served the entirety of his sentence, Six Toes will not be on parole supervision.

“Given this offender’s criminal history and an elevated risk of reoffending and violent behavior identified through institutional assessments, law enforcement and the public are being notified of this release,” said Secretary of Corrections Kellie Wasko.

Six Toes is releasing to Sioux Falls.

Six Toes is Native American, 6-feet-2-inches tall, and weighs approximately 250 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

This notification is in addition to the letters currently sent to law enforcement and notices provided to the Division of Criminal Investigation each month. Since 2011, the Department of Corrections has issued a total of 20 public notices of pending high-risk offender releases.
