Largest Classroom and Read and Win Program Offered for Students to Attend South Dakota State Fair 

 

HURON, S.D. – Registration is now open for the Largest Classroom and Read and Win program at the South Dakota State Fair.  

 

The Largest Classroom is an exciting field trip for students that includes hands-on learning and exploring educational exhibits. The adventure will take place on Wednesday, August 27, Thursday, August 28, and Friday, August 29. 

 

Specialized programing is available for participating schools which includes watching Flippenout Extreme Trampoline, interacting with Science Mania and attending special programs in the Horticulture Building. Students can also visit the Dakotaland Museum, FFA Ag Adventure Center, and much more!  

 

The Largest Classroom is open to public, private, and alternative instruction schools. It is free to students, educators, and chaperones. Lunch and parking will be provided. Another opportunity to attend the State Fair is through the Read and Win program. The program encourages summer reading as an incentive for children of all ages across the state to earn free admission to the State Fair. 

 

The State Fair is partnering with schools and public libraries to promote youth reading and reward outstanding academic achievement. This opportunity can complement current reading programs or serve as the foundation for a new one.
