Gov. Rounds makes statement on the death of former President Ronald Reagan

PIERRES.D. – In honor of former President Ronald Reagan, President George W. Bush is asking that all flags at federal, state and local government facilities be lowered to half-staff from June 5 thru July 4, 2004

“Our prayers and condolences go out to President Reagan’s family,” said Gov. Mike Rounds on the death of the United State’s fortieth president.

President Reagan’s career may be captured in remarks he made in 1984. “We will always remember. We will always be proud. We will always be prepared, so we may always be free.”

“President Reagan will be remembered as a hero and a leader,” said Rounds. “He believed in the American people. He helped us see how bright our future could be. His vision of a free people with unbridled potential became our vision once again. America is better because of his ability to share the dream with each of us as if we knew him personally,” Rounds said.
