"We are thrilled to welcome Governor Mike Rounds, his staff, and the other state departments to our community,” said Mayor Kelcy Nash. “The Capital for a Day program gives local residents the opportunity to make contact with state government agencies that can help them answer questions or work to solve problems. We look forward to their visit and the chance to showcase our community to the rest of the state.”

2:30 – 5:30 pm Rollover Simulator, Kennedy Avenue (empty lot across the street from the Auditorium)
Need to be convinced a seatbelt is really worthwhile? Check out the Highway Patrol’s new rollover convincer. We have a life-sized pick-up and a life-sized dummy -and we’ll show you just what happens to that dummy when the pick-up rolls, and he’s not strapped in.
2:30 – 5:30 pm Fatal Vision Driving Course, Kennedy Avenue (empty lot across the street from the Auditorium)
It’s not safe to drive after you’ve been drinking, and we can prove it. Take the Department of Public Safety’s Impaired Driving Simulation. You’ll get a chance to put on a pair of fatal vision goggles and take a driving test. We hope the results will prevent you from getting behind the wheel after you’ve been drinking.
