USDSU Announces New Academic Office

SIOUX FALLS (Nov. 18, 2005) - USDSU Sioux Falls recently made organizational changes that resulted in the creation of the Office of Academic Coordination. This new office is responsible for coordinating the development and delivery of all academic programs and courses at the Sioux Falls campus.

Dr. Sharon Sopko has accepted the position of director of academic coordination. Dr. Sopko most recently served as the South Dakota State University academic director in Sioux Falls.

Ms. Margaret (Peg) O’Brien has accepted the position as assistant director of academic coordination. Ms. O’Brien most recently served as the Dakota State University academic director in Sioux Falls.

“These two professionals fully understand the unique operating environment of USDSU and the type student we serve. Because of their experience and background they make an excellent team as we work to continue to grow and develop USDSU,” said Mark Lee, executive dean.

USDSU is a partnership campus of The University of South Dakota, South Dakota State University and Dakota State University that served 3,372 individual students in the 2005 academic year.
