GFP STAFF TO BE AT OUTDOOR SHOW IN BROOKINGS

PIERRE – Outdoor enthusiasts ready to celebrate spring can start by visiting the March 24-25 outdoor show at the Brookings MultiPlex.

Information Specialist Amy Urban said staff members from the Division of Parks and Recreation will be available to discuss camping and other parks-related topics, distribute the division's latest publications and lead craft activities for children. The craft activities will be offered both Saturday and Sunday from 1-5 p.m.

"Outdoor enthusiasts can pick up a copy of the new 2001 Park Times, a brochure on the Missouri River recreation areas transferred to the state from the Corps of Engineers or ask general questions of parks staff," Urban said. "It is a great opportunity to find out what is new in South Dakota's state parks."

In addition to answering questions and handing out free materials, the Parks and Recreation Division will be selling the 2001 annual park entrance license and copies of the new Campground Map Book.
