Vivian Bridge Reopens
(Pierre) The bridge over Interstate 90 at Exit 212 near Vivian has reopened. The bridge had been closed since the first week in November while construction crews repaired steel girders that were damaged last summer. At that time a backhoe on a truck traveling west on I-90 hit the bridge.
All work except bridge painting is now complete. The structure is once again fully open to the travelling public and will remain so the rest of the winter months and early spring.
A closure will once again need to be set up next spring to allow workers to repaint the steel girders that have now been repaired.
