“The snow is drifting, and we have near-zero visibility in many areas. Local weather conditions are changing abruptly. And because of the high drifts, emergency personnel are having a difficult time reaching stranded motorists,” said Secretary Tom Dravland, Department of Public Safety. “Please, stay off the roads.”
No-travel advisories remain in effect in the following counties.
- Lawrence
- Butte
- Meade
- Pennington
- Jackson
- Jones
- Custer
As of 4pm (Central Time) on 11.6.08, the following counties also have roadways with no-travel advisories.
- Harding
- Fall River
- Shannon
- Bennett
- Haakon
- Stanley
- Perkins
- Todd
- Tripp
The no travel advisory means “do not travel” and is considered the same as a road closure. When issued, it indicates that conditions are unsafe and that you should not travel except for emergency situations. If you do get stranded on the road, stay with your vehicle.
