INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENT GRANT APPROVED AT MONTHLY MEETING

PIERRE, S.D.The South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) Board of Economic Development approved one grant at its monthly meeting.

The board awarded a $500,000 Local Infrastructure Improvement Program (LIIP) grant to the City of Watertown to support critical infrastructure expansion in the Calvin Industrial Park.

“This investment reflects our commitment to keep South Dakota communities strong, safe, and free,” said Governor Larry Rhoden. “Watertown continues to lead with vision, and this project will support business growth for years to come.”

The project includes building a 25-foot sanitary sewer lift station and force main to serve a 335-acre basin. This infrastructure will meet the permanent sanitary sewer needs of the 73-acre Calvin Industrial Park and help prepare an additional 150-200 acres for future industrial development.

“As communities plan for future development, having the right infrastructure in place is essential,” said GOED Commissioner Bill Even. “Watertown has a long track record of supporting business growth, and this project is another important step in strengthening the region’s industrial potential.”
