TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION AWARDS BIDS

PIERRESD – Governor Mike Rounds announced today the Transportation Commission awarded $14.5 million dollars in bids for upcoming road construction and maintenance projects. A total of 10 projects were included in the awards. Information on the contracts, including the type of project, location, low bid and contractor to perform the work are as follows:

Yankton County

Replacing the West 15th Street Bridge over Marne Creek in Yankton. The $1 million contract was awarded to Industrial Builders, Inc. of West FargoND

Charles Mix County 

Grading, bridge work and temporary surfacing of 10 miles of US 18 from Lake Andes east to SD 50. The $3.5 million contract was awarded to Foothills Contracting, Inc. of WebsterSD.

Brown and Spink Counties

Bridge work and resurfacing 19 miles of the north bound lane of US 281 from the Warner road north to the end of the divided highway and the south bound lane from the Warner road to SD 20. The $3.3 million contract was awarded to McLaughlin & Shultz, Inc. of MarshallMN

Beadle County

11 miles of concrete pavement repair of US 14 from Huron west 5 miles and from the north junction of US 281 west 6 miles. The $1.3 million dollar contract was awarded to Diamond Surface, Inc. of Maple GroveMN

Miner County

Resurfacing of 11 miles of US 81 from SD 34 to the McCook County line. The $1.5 million contract was awarded to Rohlin Construction Company, Inc. of EsthervilleIA.

Dewey County

Resurfacing of 17 miles of SD 63 from US 212 to north of the Moreau River. The $2.3 million contract was awarded to Anderson Western, Inc. of BismarckND.
