TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION AWARDS BIDS
PIERRE, SD – Governor Mike Rounds announced today the Transportation Commission awarded $45.6 million dollars in bids for upcoming road construction and maintenance projects. A total of 15 projects were included in the awards. Information on the largest contracts, including the type of project, location, low bid and contractor to perform the work are as follows:
Butte County
Rebuilding and repaving the Horse Creek Bridge on US 212. the $1 million contract was awarded to Heavy Constructors, Inc. of Rapid City, SD.
Lincoln County
Reconstructing the Tea Exit (Exit 73) on I-29 south of Sioux Falls. The $12.3 million contract was awarded to Upper Plains Contracting, Inc. of Aberdeen, SD.
Todd and Tripp Counties
Rebuilding 11 miles of US 18 from Okreek to Carter. Resurfacing The $3.9 million contract was awarded to A-G-E Corporation of Ft. Pierre, SD.
Lincoln County
Grading and laying an interim surface on 8.5 miles of SD 11 from SD 46 north. The $3.4 million contract was awarded to Loiseau Construction, Inc. of Flandreau, SD.
Yankton County
Grading and repaving 10 miles of SD 52 from SD 50 to Yankton. The project also includes roadway lighting, permanent signing, fire hydrant and water main relocation. The $9.6 million contract was awarded to Upper Plains Contracting, Inc. of Aberdeen, SD.
Day and Roberts Counties
Grading and paving 14 miles of US 12 from ½ mile west of Waubay to I-29. The $8.2 million project was awarded to Upper Plains Contracting, Inc. of Aberdeen, SD.
Union County
Resurfacing 11 miles of SD 11 from SD 48 north to Alcester. The $1.9 million contract was awarded to McLaughlin & Schultz, Inc. of Marshall, MN.
Harding and Perkins Counties
Resurfacing 15 miles of SD 79 from SD 20 north. The $3 million contract was awarded to Anderson Western, Inc. of Bismarck, ND.
