Tuesday, Oct. 28, 7:15 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. CDT, Sioux Falls – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will speak at the 16th Annual Good Shepherd Fundraiser at 300 N. Main Ave. in Sioux Falls.

 

Friday, Oct. 31, 8:30 p.m. CDT, Pierre – Gov. Dennis Daugaard and First Lady Linda Daugaard will attend the 125th First Ladies Ball at the Ramkota in Pierre.

Monday, Oct. 27, 11 a.m. CDT – The 9-1-1 Coordination Board will meet by teleconference from 11 a.m. to noon. Thursday, Oct. 30, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. MDT, Rapid City A Disability Employment Awareness Month luncheon will be held Thursday, Oct. 30, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. MDT in the Dakota Ballroom of the Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn at 750 Cathedral Drive in Rapid City. State Sen. Alan Solano will speak about the advantages of working together on behalf of people with disabilities. He is well known in Rapid City as the chief executive officer of Behavior Management Systems – an agency that provides important services to people with disabilities in the Black Hills. The goal is to introduce employers to the supports and technical assistance available to help them as they hire, train, promote and retain a diverse workforce, as well as promote relationship building between employers and the human service staff who work with and advocate for people with disabilities. The Workforce Diversity Network, vocational rehabilitation agencies, local Society for Human Resources Management affiliates, S.D. Department of Labor and Regulation, Goodwill, Black Hills Special Services Cooperative and other providers will be represented.
