Highway Patrol to hold Women’s Recruiting Seminar Tuesday in Aberdeen
PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota Highway Patrol officials are holding a recruiting seminar Tuesday in Aberdeen for women who are interested in learning more about how to join the Highway Patrol.
The event starts at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Aberdeen Mall. Interested public can stop by at any time during the two-hour period to get more information on the recruiting process. There will be female troopers available to discuss topics such as the application process, training, what is it like to be a state trooper and the challenges that come with the position.
This is the second year the Highway Patrol has hosted women’s recruiting seminars. The Aberdeen event is the final of four seminars being held statewide in June. The other seminars were held in Pierre, Rapid City and Sioux Falls.
The Highway Patrol is now accepting applications through July 8 for the next class of 15-20 recruits. The trooper application can be found at http://bhr.sd.gov/workforus/law/hp/default.aspx .
