Sign Bracket Replacement Scheduled on Interstate 90 West at Exit 57 in Rapid City
RAPID CITY, S.D. - On Monday, July 7, 2025, work will begin to replace a structural sign bracket on the Interstate 190 bridge over the Interstate 90 westbound lanes between exit 57 and exit 58 in Rapid City.
Work will require a lane closure for the I-90 westbound driving lanes and the on-ramp to I-90 westbound at exit 58 (Haines Avenue). The exit 57 off-ramp to I-190 southbound will remain open.
A 12-foot width restriction will be in place on the I-190 northbound lanes to the I-90 westbound ramp while crews replace the sign bracket. A 16-foot width restriction will be in place on I-90 westbound. While the I-90 exit 57 westbound on-ramp is closed at Haines Avenue, a signed detour will route traffic east to exit 59 and across the Lacrosse Street Bridge to return to I-90 westbound.
Motorists should be prepared for slow-moving or suddenly-stopping traffic on westbound I-90 during peak travel hours through this work zone.
The prime contractor for this $155,000 project is J.V. Bailey Company, Inc. from Rapid City, SD. The overall project completion date is Friday, July 26, 2025.
