South Dakota State Fair Makes First Concert Announcement

HURON, S.D. –The South Dakota State Fair and Pioneer are proud to welcome country music star Riley Green to the SD State Fair Grandstand on Saturday, August 31.

After being named the Academy of Country Music’s 2020 New Male Artist of the Year, a former MusicRow Breakout Artist of the Year, and a CMT “Listen Up Artist,” Green has been riding a wave of success. This year he’s played to an average of 65,000 fans each night serving as direct support for Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs and is selling out his own headlining shows. Combs joins Green on his second number one single “Different ‘Round Here (Ft. Luke Combs),” the title track to Riley’s 2019 debut album.

His songs like the No. 1 PLATINUM hit “There Was This Girl,” the 2X-PLATINUM-certified heart-tugger “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” (which he performed live at the 55th ACM Awards), and his chart-topping collab with Thomas Rhett, “Half of Me,” have made Riley synonymous with what country music does best: making listeners feel something with his no-gimmick, relatable writing and classic feel.

“We’re excited to welcome Riley Green to the grandstand stage,” says Peggy Besch, SD State Fairgrounds Manager. “Bringing this chart-topping entertainment to the fair raises the excitement level, and we’re always happy to bring the fans what they’re asking for.”

Presales begin on May 28 for VIP Tables sales, followed by June 10 for Backrest Holders, June 12 for Friends of the Fair, and general public sales on June 17. Pricing and ticket information can be found at www.sdstatefair.com.

Friends of the Fair is a program through the State Fair Foundation offering a variety of benefits including early bird access to State Fair VIP table sales, presale access to grandstand reserved seating and standing room tickets for the State Fair, complimentary daily gate admission passes, and recognition on the State Fair website.

The backrest program is an advertising program allowing businesses or individuals to put signage on a backrest in the grandstands. Backrest signage holders can purchase South Dakota State Fair grandstand tickets for their corresponding signage area prior to general and Friends of the Fair ticket sales. Additional information and pricing can be found on www.sdstatefair.com.
