Names Released in Pennington County Fatal Crash
What: One-vehicle fatal crash
Where: Interstate 90, mile marker 102, 10 miles west of Wall, S.D.
When: Sunday, 10:39 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015
Driver: Mykola Serhiienko, 20, St. Louis, MO, Serious Non-Life Threatening Injuries
Passenger No. 1: Ivan Iskorostenskyi, 29, St. Louis, MO, Life Threatening Injuries
Passenger No. 2: Andrii Ponomar, 21, St. Louis, MO, Fatal Injuries
Passenger No. 3: Artem Boiko, 20, St. Louis, MO, Serious Non-Life Threatening Injuries
Passenger No. 4: Artem Kurhan, 20, St. Louis, MO, Serious Non-Life Threatening Injuries
Vehicle: 2004 Pontiac Vibe
WALL, S.D. – A St. Louis, MO, man, identified as Andrii Ponomar, 21, was killed in a one-vehicle crash Sunday morning near Wall.
Four other men also were injured. All of the occupants are from St. Louis.
A 2004 Pontiac Vibe was going west on Interstate 90 when the driver, Mykola Serhiienko, 20, lost control. The vehicle eventually went into the north ditch and rolled.
Two passengers were ejected from the vehicle. Ponomar was pronounced dead at the scene. The second passenger, Ivan Iskorostenskyi, 29, sustained life-threatening injuries.
The three other occupants received serious non-life threatening injuries. Only the driver, Serhiienko, was wearing a seatbelt.
South Dakota Highway Patrol officials continue to investigate. Other agencies at the scene were the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, Rapid City Fire and Rescue, Wall Fire Department and Lifeflight.
The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
