Renowned Violinist and Composer to Entertain Aberdeen Students
Pierre - Grammy Award winning violinist, fiddler, composer and teacher Mark O'Conner will stir the hearts and minds of Aberdeen Central High School orchestra students on November 12.
O'Conner will give a live broadcast via the Digital Dakota Network (DDN) from his location in New York. He will teach attendees about the American history of the violin through his "Strings and Threads" composition. His 45-minute presentation is entitled "Teaching the Culture, History, and Love of the Violin."
O'Conner's musical background is an eclectic mix of bluegrass, jazz, country and classical. He has performed with such renowned musicians as Paul Simon, Yo-Yo Ma, Dolly Parton and Stephane Grappelli.
O'Conner strives to inspire and move people through his music. He is committed to bringing the compassion of music to people and people to the love of music. Energetic and witty, the effervescent O'Conner perfectly combines his talents as both teacher and performer.
