Highway Patrol Drug Seizure: 34lbs Marijuana
Pierre, S.D. –On Sunday, March 2, the South Dakota Highway Patrol discovered approximately 34 pounds of high-grade marijuana in Minnehaha County.
The drug seizure happened just before 10:00 p.m. on Interstate 90 near Brandon. A South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the stop, a police service dog was deployed and discovered 33.71 pounds of marijuana.
The marijuana’s street value is estimated at more than $200,000.
The driver of the vehicle and his female passenger were both arrested.
