Five South Dakota Students Awarded Richard Hagen-Minerva Harvey Memorial Scholarship

 

Pierre, SD — Five exceptional high school seniors from across South Dakota have been awarded the prestigious Richard Hagen-Minerva Harvey Memorial State Scholarship. This scholarship honors enrolled members of federally recognized American Indian tribes who demonstrate strong personal character, cultural involvement, leadership, and a clear vision for their future educational and career goals.

 

The 2025 scholarship recipients are:

  • Scarlett Renville (Sisseton);
  • Ethan Phelps (Rapid City);
  • Kyra Perkins (Rapid City);
  • Cole Ducheneaux (Timber Lake); and
  • August Bartels (Winner).

The Richard Hagen-Minerva Harvey Memorial Scholarship Program provides financial assistance for up to four years of postsecondary education. Award amounts include a minimum of $1,000 for each of the first two years, $1,500 for the third year, and $2,500 for the fourth year.
