Roberts County Fatal Crash
What: One-vehicle rollover
Where: 473rd Avenue and 113th Street, seven miles south of Rosholt, S.D.
When: 2:36 p.m., Friday, Aug. 5, 2016
Driver: Male, 16, Minor Injuries
Passenger: Male, 69, Fatal Injuries
Vehicle: 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD pickup
ROSHOLT, S.D. – One person died and another was injured in a one-vehicle crash that happened Friday south of Rosholt.
The names of the two are not being released pending notification of family members. They were the only occupants.
A 2007 Chevy Silverado 25000HD pickup was southbound on 473rd Avenue when the driver lost control. The vehicle entered the ditch and rolled multiple times.
The passenger, 69, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 16, who was wearing a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Other agencies on scene were the Roberts County Sheriff’s Office.
