Tilford Port of Entry Open
Rapid City, SD – The Tilford Port of Entry is again open for business. In April, the port was temporarily relocated to the Highway 79 Scale in Rapid City while Interstate 90 near the port was under construction.
South Dakota Ports of Entry help guarantee commercial vehicle safety on South Dakota roads. Port personnel issue commercial vehicle permits, perform safety inspections to make sure commercial vehicles and their operators are in compliance with all state and federal safety regulations, and enforce vehicle weight limits to help preserve the integrity of South Dakota roads. Additionally, the ports serve as an information hub for commercial trucking information.
South Dakota has four Ports of Entry. They are located in Jefferson, Sioux Falls, Sisseton, and Tilford. Approximately, 700,000 trucks visit the ports each year. Between the four ports, more than 85,000 permits were issued last year.
The Tilford Port of Entry’s Customer Service line is 605.347.2671. Additional information is available at sdtruckinfo.com.
