Repair Project Begins on Interstate 90 Overpasses at Cactus Flats and Murdo

 

MURDO, S.D. –Repair work is scheduled to begin on the Interstate 90 overpasses at exit 131 (Cactus Flats) and exit 191 (Murdo). The project includes concrete removal, repair of the existing bridge decks, and a concrete overlay at each location. Work will be completed in phases with one lane of the bridge being worked on at a time. 

 

During operations, a lane closure will be in place across the overpasses. Traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic signals. Temporary signals are scheduled to be installed on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the exit 191 (Murdo) overpass and on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the exit 131 (Cactus Flats) overpass. Bridge deck concrete repairs will follow.

 

The prime contractor on the $2 million project is Industrial Builders, Inc. of Fargo, ND. The overall project completion date is Friday, Nov. 14, 2025.
