Tuesday, Sept. 29, 9:00 a.m., CDT, Mitchell – Lt. Gov. Matt Michels will provide reamrks to students at the Mitchell Technical Institute's Career Expo at the Davison County Fairgrounds.

 

Thursday, Oct 1, 5:10 p.m. CDT – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will be a guest on the Fred & Tom Show on WNAX, 570 AM.

Thursday, Oct. 1  – Friday, Oct. 2 – Beginning Oct. 1 at 1 p.m. MDT, the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks’ (GFP) Commission will meet at the Spearfish Holiday Inn Convention Center in Spearfish. A public hearing will begin at 2 p.m. MDT discussing the finalizations of August's meeting. The GFP Commission serves as the advocate and liaison between the department and its stakeholders - the people of South Dakota. The Commission meets monthly (except for February and September) and consists of eight members; which are appointed by the Governor for four year terms. Thursday, Oct. 1, 7:30 a.m. CDT, Sioux Falls – In recognition of Disability Employment Awareness Month in South Dakota, a breakfast event will be held Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, at 7:30 a.m. CDT at the Sanford Research Center, 2301 E. 60th St. N., in Sioux Falls. The event will feature an employer/expert panel focusing on the successes and challenges of hiring people with disabilities, the Americans with Disabilities Act and accommodations in the workplace. Tuesday, Sept. 29 – Wednesday, Sept. 30, 10 a.m. CDT, Pierre – DENR staff will host two days of Visible Emission Evaluation Certification in Pierre. The “Fall Smoke School” classroom session will be held at the Joe Foss Building, 523 East Capitol Avenue, Pierre. The field certification will be held at the National Guard Armory, 3400 East Highway 34, Pierre. Certification is open to those from industry, municipalities, consultants, or anyone who would like to be certified to evaluate visible emissions (smoke/dust) to ensure emissions are in compliance with state and federal air quality standards. Wednesday, Sept. 30, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. CDT, Yankton  – The Department of Labor and Regulation will host a Job Search Assistance Program (JSAP) at 3113 Spruce Street, Suite 124. JSAP is a workshop for people recovering from job loss or enhancing their job search skills. Trained instructors speak on modern-day techniques used to successfully find employment. Topics covered are: resume and cover letter writing, interviewing etiquette, networking effectively, using social media and much more.
