     Evacuated Residents of Dakota Dunes to Have Daily Access
 
DAKOTA DUNES, S.D. – Officials involved in the response to Missouri River flooding are extending the daily hours during which residents of evacuated areas of Dakota Dunes may access their homes.
 
Beginning Wednesday, June 22, residents andcontractors working in the evacuated area will be able to access homes daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
 
The checkpoint entrance to the area is located north of the northern levee on Dakota Dunes Boulevard. Everyone passing through the checkpoint must display an entry ID badge and picture ID. Entry badges are available at the Public Information Trailer located in the parking lot of Liberty National Bank from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
 
Residents are reminded that trucks continue to haul materials into Dakota Dunes. Homeowners are being asked to please keep roads clear and park off the street. 
 
Walking or driving on the levees can compromise their structural integrity. For the safety of the homeowners and the safety of the levee systems, please remain off of these levee systems.
 
Residents should NOT discharge their sump pumps into the sanitary sewer system or into or over the levee.
