TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION AWARDS BIDS
PIERRE, SD – The Transportation Commission recently awarded $17.9 million dollars in bids for upcoming road construction and maintenance projects. A total of 19 contracts were included in the awards. Information on the largest contracts, including the type of project, location, low bid and contractor to perform the work are as follows:
BrookingsCounty
Bridge deck epoxy chip seal, approach slab replacement and bridge deck grinding of a bridge on US 14 between Volga and Brookings. The $790,000 contract was awarded to Progressive Contractors, Inc. of St. Michael, MN.
Hughes County
Traffic signal upgrade, pavement markings, sidewalk, curb and gutter work on SD 34 from Ree Street to Pierce Street. The $700,000 contract was awarded to Strata Corporation of Grand Forks, ND.
PenningtonCounty
Resurfacing 34 miles of I-90 from three and a half miles west of Wasta to Wall. The $8.2 million contract was awarded to Border States Paving, Inc. of Fargo, ND.
BrownCounty
Resurfacing eight miles of SD 10 from west of Houghton to east of the SD 37 junction. The $1.8 million contract was awarded to Bituminous Paving, Inc. of Ortonville, MN.
Resurfacing three miles of SD 281 from the junction of the new alignment north to the end of the divided highway near WyliePark. The $2 million contract was awarded to Border States Paving, Inc. of Fargo, ND.
