Round Two of Gov. Noem’s Freedom Works Here Attracts More Workers

PIERRE, S.D. – Governor Kristi Noem’s “Freedom Works Here” nationwide workforce recruitment campaign has crossed two major thresholds since launching Round Two. More than 8,000 people have applied to move to South Dakota through “Freedom Works Here.” And over 2,000 applicants have advanced to in the final stages of moving, and some of those individuals have already made the move!

“Round Two of Freedom Works Here came about because so many people were asking me when we were going to have new ads – businesses even asked how they could participate to extend the campaign,” said Governor Noem. “Now, those ads are drawing even more people to South Dakota. We have been telling South Dakota’s story to the entire nation, and we’re not done yet.”

The most applications have come from California (1,386), Florida (594), Texas (550), Minnesota (423), and New York (360). 246 South Dakotans have also used the campaign as a tool to get plugged into career opportunities. A map showing where applicants are from can be found here

These numbers represent those working directly through the “Freedom Works Here” program. Even more people are finding jobs and moving to South Dakota of their own accord after seeing the ads.
