PROGRESSIVE FINANCIAL SERVICES, INC. EXPANDING ABERDEEN LOCATION

ABERDEEN, S.D. – The South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development and Aberdeen Development Corporation announced Wednesday that Progressive Financial Services, Inc., (PFS) in Aberdeen is expanding.

The Philadelphia-based, top-20 collection company will create 75 new jobs, increasing its total employment to 150.

“Progressive Financial Services is exactly the kind of company any state would be proud to have as a corporate citizen,” Gov. Mike Rounds said. “Since the company first came to South Dakota four years ago, it has exceeded its growth expectations. Progressive continues to excel, due in part to South Dakota’s pro-business climate and excellent workforce.”

Aberdeen Mayor Mike Levsen said, “Aberdeen’s economy continues to be strong, despite the recession going on elsewhere in the nation. We are all delighted by Progressive’s further commitment to Aberdeen and northeast South Dakota. It is quickly becoming one of Aberdeen’s major employers.”

Rob Prince, PFS Executive Vice President states, “We offer our employees a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefit package; this average of $35,000 year allows us to hire and retain from the Aberdeen area and the prairie region.”

“We chose Aberdeen because of the efforts of Aberdeen Development Corporation and the Governors Office of Economic Development,” added Progressive President Wes Hull. “We find the Aberdeen area to be a great fit for our company’s long-term plans.”

PFS received $50,000 in workforce development funds from the GOED. A public announcement will take place Wednesday on the first floor in the Dakota Regional Commerce Center, 516 Production St., Aberdeen. Activities will commence at 9:30 a.m. and conclude by 11 a.m.

Applications for employment may be picked up at the South Dakota Department of Labor local office at 420 S. Roosevelt St., Aberdeen.
