Two State Prison Inmates Back In Custody

Sioux Falls, S.D.- Two minimum-security state prison inmates who walked away from their work assignment at the South Dakota State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls last month are back in custody.

Inmates Brandon Suess and Troy Chase were apprehended in Weston County, WY earlier today.

They were placed on escape status after they failed to return to the minimum-security unit in Sioux Falls for a count of inmates June 26.

Suess is currently serving an 8-year sentence for third-degree burglary and a consecutive 7-year sentence for grand theft. Both of the sentences are from Custer County.

Chase is currently serving a 3-year sentence from Minnehaha County for forgery.
