Interstate 29 Reopened;

Travel Caution Due to Compacted Snow and Ice

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – State officials have reopened Interstate 29 between the Tea Exit and the Iowa border and are also issuing a travel caution.

Drivers are cautioned that the heavy snow from yesterday’s blizzard has been compacted onto the roadway creating extremely slippery conditions all across southeastern South Dakota and especially on I-29.

If you are travelling, please slow down, turn off cruise, buckle up, pay attention and allow plenty of time to reach your destination safely.

Motorists are also advised to check road condition sites for Nebraska, Iowa and Minnesota before heading those directions. There are still road closures and travel advisories in those states.

The most up-to-date information on road conditions is available by dialing 511 or visiting www.safetravelusa.com/sd.
