State prison inmate dies

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - A state prison inmate has died as the result of an apparent suicide.

Corey Rhodes, 22, was found unresponsive in his cell at the South Dakota State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls on Nov. 30, 2012. Rhodes was transported to a local hospital where he died this afternoon.

Rhodes was serving a six-year sentence for third-degree burglar conviction in Brown County.

The Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating the death. An autopsy will be conducted.
