CUSTER, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation has closed Highway 87, also known as the Needles Highway, for the 2017-2018 winter season.

The closure is from the intersection of America Center Road to Sylvan Lake.

Officials say the road is typically reopened around the first of April, but that is dependent on the weather.
