Names Released In Roberts County Fatal Crash
What: One-vehicle crash
Where: Interstate 29, mile marker 249
17 miles north of Sisseton, S.D.
When: 1:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018
Driver: Gerald Iron Cloud, 28, Porcupine, S.D., Serious Non-Life Threatening Injuries
Passenger: Marrisa Mountain, 23, Granite Falls, MN, Fatal
Vehicle: 2007 Ford Crew Cab
SISSETON, S.D. – A Granite Falls, MN woman has been identified as the victim in a one-vehicle fatal crash that occurred early Saturday morning north of Sisseton.
A 2007 Ford Crew Cab was southbound on Interstate 29 when the vehicle left the road and eventually rolled.
Marrisa Mountain, 23, was the passenger. She was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Gerald Iron Cloud, 28, Porcupine, was the driver. He suffered serious non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a Fargo, N.D. hospital.
Neither person was wearing a seatbelt. Charges are pending against the driver.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Other agencies on scene were the Roberts County Sheriff’s Office and Grant Roberts Ambulance.
The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
