Parents Matter: Parents Speak Out
Pierre, SD-The parents of two teenagers who died in drinking and driving accidents this spring are taking their message online.
Joyce Glynn lost her son, Michael, to a drinking and driving accident near White River in May. Todd Holter lost his son, Dusty, to a drinking and driving accident near Hartford in May. Now both are telling their stories online at the Parents Matter website.
“At one moment it seems like it happened yesterday. And five minutes later, it seems like it happened ten years ago, and I’ve been living this way forever. I don’t think I will ever adjust to it. I don’t feel now like I ever will,” Glynn said in her interview posted online.
Holter said in his online interview, “It’s hard everyday. Everyday you get up and you think about it.”
To hear more from Glynn and Holter, visit www.state.sd.us/dps and click on the Parents Matter icon. There you’ll be able to listen to both parents talk about the loss of a child and hear their advice for parents.
