What: Two-vehicle fatal crash

Where: Interstate 229, at interchange with Interstate 29, Sioux Falls, SD

When: Wednesday, July 16, 2014, 9:35 p.m.

Driver 1: Michael William Billet, 38, Brookings, SD, serious non-life threatening injuries

Passenger 1: Shauna Lynn Rose, 35, Sioux Falls, SD, fatal

Vehicle 1: 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle

Driver 2: Dylan Blake Waldner, 20, Renner, SD, no injuries

Vehicle 2: 2011 Chevrolet HHR

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A Sioux Falls woman died in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 229 near the interchange with Interstate 29 on Wednesday, July 16.

Shauna Lynn Rose, 35, was a passenger on a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Michael William Billet, 38, of Brookings, S.D. The couple had stopped on the shoulder and were moving back onto the roadway when the motorcycle was struck from behind by a 2011 Chevrolet HHR driven by Dylan Blake Waldner, 20, of Renner, S.D.

Rose received fatal injuries in the crash. Billet received serious injuries. Neither was wearing a helmet.

Waldner was uninjured. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

No further information is immediately available.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Sioux Falls Police Department and Sioux Falls Fire and Rescue assisted.
