                                           Former Rep. John Sears Dies

PIERRE, S.D. – Former South Dakota legislator John Sears died Tuesday, Feb. 5, at his home in Reno, Nev.

Sears, 68, formerly of Rapid City, served from 1985-1996 in the South Dakota House of Representatives. He was chairman of the Legislature’s Executive Board in 1991-1992.

Gov. Dennis Daugaard has ordered the flag lowered to half-staff at the State Capitol on the day of Sears’ memorial service in Reno, which is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 12.
