Live Shark Encounter To Make Stop At South Dakota State Fair!
(HURON, SD)- The only traveling live shark show in America will be making a stop September 8-11 for the last half of the 2004 South Dakota State Fair, which will be held September 4-11.
Marco and Philip Peters founders of Squalus, Inc. grew up amidst the myth and mystery of sharks in their childhood home of Holland. Their shared youthful passion for sharks led them to a joint quest to bring the wonder and beauty of sharks to others in an unexpected way – LIVE.
The 9,000 gallon saltwater tank exhibit contains several species of sharks. The exhibit consists of a show director who discusses shark facts and fiction and a diver who swims freely, interacting with the sharks.
“We were able to secure this exhibit for the last four days of the fair and we are delighted to have the live shark encounter at the fair,” stated Susan Hayward, manager of the South Dakota State Fair. “An opportunity to see a shark exhibit like this does not come along everyday in South Dakota. It is educational, fun, and will be enjoyed by students; general fairgoers won’t want to miss it either!”
