Names Released In Grant County Fatal Crash

 

WHAT: Two-Vehicle Crash

WHERE: 482nd Avenue near the intersection with 160th Street

                12 miles southeast of Milbank, S.D.

WHEN: 2:45 p.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2021

 

Driver No. 1: Jared Krakow, 32, Strandburg, S.D.,  No Injuries

Vehicle: 2014 Kenworth T800 Semi-truck and trailer

 

Driver No. 2: Taden Kruse, 16, Gary, S.D., Fatal Injuries

Vehicle: 2008 Buick Lucerne

 

MILBANK, S.D. — A Gary, S.D., male has been identified as the person who died Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash southeast of Milbank.

 

Preliminary information indicates that a 2008 Buick Lucerne was southbound on 482nd Avenue when it crossed the center line into the northbound lane and collided with a northbound 2014 Kenworth T800 semi-truck and trailer.

 

Taden Kruse, the 16-year-old driver of the Buick, was pronounced dead at the scene. His seat belt use is unknown.

 

Jared Krakow, 32, of Strandburg, S.D., was the driver of the semi-truck. He was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

 

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation. All information is preliminary at this time.

 

The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
